Game results and other things

So, now we have lulled Western into a false sense of security we can go out and beat them in the tournament ok?

Two losses today, Burgundy A snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, and after a good early start to their bowling Black Development unfortunately encountered two in-form Western batsmen who both got centuries.
And you will remember those Devonport wickets - those boundaries aren't kind to bowlers' figures however both coaches said we bowled well. Two five-wicket bags in there as well.

Burgundy A lost toss, bowled first
Batting first Western were all out for 184
Best bowling C Floyd 10 overs 5/40
A Scott 8 overs 1/12
E Meenhorst 6 overs 1/20
R Ter Braak (filling in for Burgundy) 7 overs 1/21

Batting (double figures only)  164/10
D Robinson 19 (45)
C Floyd 41 (43)
N Montgomery 24 (47)
I Snell 16 (38)
D Budler 18 (18)

Black Development lost toss bowled first  Western 343 (in context, remember 2 x Harbour teams got a similar score at Devonport last time we played there on those boundaries)
Scorebook appears to have been filled out by a drunk spider :-) but from what I can work out:
A Frew 10 overs 3/31
H Sim 9 overs 5/70
W O'Donnell 4 overs 2/10

Batting (double figures only)  Harbour 146/10
D Fonseka 11 (20)
T Robb 17 (36)
C Wilkinson 16  (55)
J Edgar 16  (10)
R Lowans 15*  (7)

Both Paul and Coel said a lot of positives to come from the bowling, but obviously the batsmen need to kick on. I'm sure they said it better than me.  Get out and hit some balls this week.

Thanks to all those who filled in for us today to make sure we had full teams. Really appreciated. I mean, really.

Only 6 days now til tournament. Don't get injured (William?).

MANAGERS: Today I had to submit teams/coaches and managers to Auckland Cricket.
We are the only district that couldn't provide managers for  allour teams. Thanks to Graeme Budler for doing Burgundy A and Karen Steyn for Blac k A but anyone else?
All you have to do is make sure each team is in the right place, with a scoresheet, and a scorer, and on time for the photo, and collect score sheets after each game. And just support the coach when he asks for help. Let me know Tuesday please.  Denise 027 224 0181
